A sailboat rests at anchor, its small tender tied alongside, its sails now dark against the glowing horizon. Further away, other boats drift in the haze, softened by the last light. Below, the reflections stretch in deep violet across the calm water, where the pink of the sky slowly fades into lavender and blue.

This print belongs to Yoshida's celebrated Inland Sea series (Seto Naikai shū), published in 1926. For six of its prints, Yoshida used exactly the same woodblocks, changing only the colours to show the same boats at different times of day and in different weather.
