Who is the goddess Saraswati?
In Hindu mythology, Saraswati is the goddess of knowledge, eloquence, music and the arts, and in Vedic times was also the deity of rivers. Saraswati is often depicted on a swan and sometimes a peacock. Two of her four arms play the vînâ, another holds a book, the Veda, while the last holds a pearl necklace or an elephant hook.
