Collection: Japanese Spring Wall Art

In Japan, spring is not a season so much as an event with a schedule. The cherry blossom front moves north across the country week by week, and for four hundred years printmakers have followed it — plum branches first, then cherry, then wisteria.

What makes these prints work on a wall is the empty space. A single flowering branch against pale paper leaves room to breathe, which is why they suit small rooms and narrow walls where a busy image would crowd everything.

Hang one vertically in a hallway, or two side by side above a bed. Pale wood frames suit them better than black.
